Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations and production Manager to join our team. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our structural steel fabrication shop, ensuring the efficient operation of our facilities and the successful completion of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel fabrication processes, along with proven leadership skills and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and personnel management.

 

Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day operations of the structural steel fabrication shop, including production scheduling, resource allocation, workflow optimization and deliveries.

Supervise a team of skilled fabricators, welders, and other personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure productivity and quality standards are met. 

Manage Personnel Conflicts, enforce disciplinary measures if needed

Coordinate with project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution from design to delivery.

Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

Monitor inventory levels and procurement processes in collaboration with the purchasing department to ensure adequate supply of materials and equipment for production activities.

Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among all shop employees.

Manage preventative and corrective maintenance of the facility and fabrication machinery.

Ensure application of company procedures, rules and policies

Enforce Quality System in place

Coordinate NDT agencies when needed

Qualifications:

Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the structural steel fabrication industry.

Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes, equipment, and materials.

Proven track record of effectively managing teams and driving operational excellence.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize competing demands effectively.

Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/MRP systems preferred.
